We are currently accepting SPECIFIC cold weather clothing donations.
Bring the items listed below to the shop (222 North Washington Street, Sleepy Hollow -- red door) on:
Monday, January 26th, 9am-12pm
Thursday, January 29th 8am-11am
Monday, February 2nd 11am-2pm
Thursday, February 5th 5pm-7pm
Please ONLY bring what's on the list below. Right now, we have a critical need for:

Most urgent: Boys WINTER shirts and pants, sizes 6-8

Boys WINTER shirts and pants, sizes 8-10, 10-12, 12-14
-
Girls WINTER tops and bottoms, and dresses, sizes 6-8, 8-10, 10-12, 12-14
-
Shoes for kids and adults. Men's and women's shoe sizes: only under size 9
-
All hoodies and sweatshirts (in good, unstained, unripped condition)
-
Adult gloves
-
Women's sweaters sizes L and XL only
-
NO size small women's shirts: we have an excess of these.

NO T-SHIRTS of any size for anyone, please. We have plenty.
Not urgent, but as long as we're accepting donations:
Dressy wear for Sleepy Hollow High School's junior dinner: cocktail-length dresses for girls; jackets and slacks for boys
And also:
Elementary school (K-5th) nurses are requesting additional pants/leggings for boys and girls if they need an emergency change at school. These can have frayed knees and paint stains, since they're only being worn home once. PLEASE PACK THESE SEPARATELY FROM YOUR CW DONATIONS or bring them directly to your school nurse.
You must review donation guidelines below. We are a volunteer organization with limited human resources: we will turn away donations that don't meet our criteria.
We will always accept monetary donations!
Ask to join our email list so you don’t miss the dates: CommunityWardrobe@horsempta.org.
Remember: NEVER leave items outside our door, as this will jeopardize our tenancy.
Community Wardrobe only accepts items that are in very good condition: nothing torn, stained or smelly. And ideally, without animal hair.
IF YOU WOULDN’T GIVE IT TO A FRIEND, please don’t give it to Community Wardrobe.

Donation Guidelines
When we are accepting clothing donations, we accept items for all members of the family, including shoes, jewelry, toiletries, and handbags. When packing up your donations, please keep these tips in mind:
➡️ Remember: if you wouldn’t give it to a friend, please don’t give it to us. ⬅️
Donations we especially LIKE:
✅ Size XS, Small, and Medium men’s clothes, and men’s shoes sizes 5-8
✅ Women’s shoes size 6.5 and smaller are in demand
✅ We always need sneakers for all ages. (Please wash them first, if possible.)
✅ Boys' pants, especially size 6-8
✅ Our clients love Sleepy Hollow spirit wear!
✅ New socks in packaging (check out our Amazon wishlist)
✅ Reading glasses. These change some people’s lives in seconds.
✅ We accept purses, handbags, backpacks, and duffels if they are in very good condition.
✅ We take some prom, bridesmaid, and quinceanera dresses.
✅ We are once again accepting XL women’s clothing, but not men’s XL.
✅ Unopened toiletries, especially toothpaste and shampoo, are in demand. Donate your hotel goodies or purchase them for us to distribute from our Amazon Wishlist.
✅ We love dresses of all kinds, especially casual ones.
✅ We can currently take some linens and blankets though if we run out of space, we may need to turn away these generous donations.
✅ We can always take towels, though, and have great demand for them.
We WON’T accept:
❌ Sorry, no cleats or sports equipment. Also, no leotards or dance shoes.
❌ Used socks
❌ Used underwear, except for bras (we accept bras and lingerie in appealing condition)
❌ Hangers
❌ Any torn, stained, dirty, hairy, or smoke-scented item
➡️ If you bring career clothing, please only bring a few items: we don’t have need or room for many suits. ⬅️
❌We are not currently accepting maternity wear.
❌ Donations brought outside the dates of our scheduled donation windows.
We LOVE IT when:
You put your donations in multiple bags sorted and labeled by gender and size. Please be prepared to take home anything that doesn’t meet the criteria on this page. We simply don’t have the person power or the space to manage the excess.
Sorting your donation into categories makes it easier (and quicker) to get your stuff out into the world again!
These lists change as our inventory changes so check back frequently. We update regularly.
